Come to Oregon Women’s Lands

Oregon has a rich herstory of lesbian activism, creativity, and community building. Southern Oregon, in particular, cradled Women's Land culture, creativity, spirituality, as the Women's Land Movement gathered momentum in the 1970s. Many women moved to the region, pioneering women’s space close to the natural world and away from the densities of urban life. By now there is a large population of dykes in the area -- some on the lands, some in nearby towns -- who support each other, create culture together, gather in ceremony and celebration, play together regularly. And there are over a dozen women-serving lands! Many are open to new residents; some offer visitor cabins, camping, beautiful hikes. All welcome your interest and energy. Here is contact info for some Oregon women’s lands. You may also want to check out Shewolf’s Directory of Wimmin’s Lands, POB 1515, Melrose, FL 32666.
